Privacy policy
Plain-English summary: we don't sell your data, we don't run third-party advertising trackers, and we keep analytics anonymous. Below is the formal version.
Who we are
Blood Test Guide UK ("we", "us") is a UK-based independent publisher. The site is operated by Grok (sole trader). Contact: see contact page.
What data we collect
Visitors (everyone)
- Anonymous, aggregated analytics: page visited, country, referrer, device type. We use a privacy-first analytics service that does not set tracking cookies and does not collect personal data. We do not collect IP addresses for analytics.
- Standard server logs (held by our hosting provider, Cloudflare) for security and abuse prevention.
Newsletter subscribers
- Email address (only if you sign up for our newsletter)
- Engagement metrics (open / click rates) for sending relevant content
- Unsubscribe one-click any time. We will never sell or share this list.
Affiliate clicks
- When you click an affiliate link, the destination provider may set its own cookies. We don't control these — see the provider's privacy policy.
What we don't collect
- We don't ask for and don't store any health data, symptoms, test results, or medical history.
- We don't run third-party advertising networks (no Google Ads, no Meta pixels).
- We don't sell visitor data to anyone.
Lawful basis (UK GDPR)
- Analytics: legitimate interests (operating and improving the site), with privacy-first non-identifying tooling.
- Newsletter: consent (opt-in), withdrawable at any time.
- Server logs: legitimate interests (security).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict processing. If you've signed up for our newsletter, you can unsubscribe with one click in any email, or email us to delete your data entirely.
Cookies
We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. We may use a single first-party cookie to remember preferences (such as dismissing the disclosure banner). No consent banner is required for strictly-necessary cookies under UK PECR.
International transfers
Our hosting (Cloudflare) and email tooling may process data in the EEA, UK, or US under standard UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)–approved transfer mechanisms.
Complaints
If you have a concern, please contact us first; if unresolved, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
